Holst Centre’s alternative to plastic and metal substrates

oled-on-ceramic

There you have it now, the first ever ceramic-based, large-area flexible OLED prototype created by Holst Centre and American ultra-thin ceramics supplier ENrG Inc. Researches at Holst Centre point out that ceramic is a valuable alternative to other currently used substrates, such as plastic or metal, because of its intrinsic moisture barrier properties and high-temperature capabilities. Plus, it is both robust and smooth enough to fabricate an OLED device on. Check out the link below to learn more about advantages this new material can offer.
